Forum Instructions

Announcements, Assignments, and Submissions

For each workshop attendance, please read the Announcements, Assignments, and Submissions forum thread that corresponds with the date of your attendance.

For instance, if you’re attending on Tuesday, 8/1/17, go to the forum thread labelled “Announcements, Assignments, and Submissions – Tuesday, 8/1/17.”

Once you’re there:

  1. Read the announcements
  2. Find your assignment
  3. Find and access your assigned critique submission or discussion syllabus

Announcements

Weekly announcements pertain to The People’s Colloquium and to The People’s Ink specifically.

Please note: announcements may repeat weekly. In this case, it’s only necessary to read such announcements once, though you should still retain familiarity with their contents.

Assignments

For each workshop you’re scheduled to attend, your name will appear under the “assignments.” Please locate your name and then access the appropriate group materials.

Below are three examples.

  1. The first example is for a Community Critique Group. In this case, it’s necessary to identify the submitting writer’s name and then find his critique submission in the submissions section (more information about this can be found below).
  2. The second example is a discussion. In this case, it’s necessary to click on the link connecting to the discussion syllabus.
  3. The third example is a Focus Group. It’s possibly necessary to check an additional forum section to find the Focus Group critique submission.

If you’re uncertain where your critique submission will appear, please contact an administrator at ThePeoplesColloquiumPDX@gmail.com.

Submissions

To download a submission, go to the bottom of the appropriate forum thread. Submissions are tagged by the member who uploaded them.

The forum thread holding the critique submission will either be the weekly Announcements, Assignments, and Submissions forum thread, or a Focus Group specific forum thread in the case of some Focus Groups (see above).

To upload a submission, go to the very bottom of the appropriate forum thread.

  • In the white box, please type a statement to your reviewers. You can include particular questions you have for them, directions for the critique discussion, concerns about your submission, or any other relevant information.
  • Next click the button titled “choose file” under the “attachments” header. Use this to select your submission file.
  • Afterward, click the “submit” button. You’re all set!

Submissions may be posted late because meeting deadlines can be difficult! If you’re concerned that a submission hasn’t been posted in time, or if you aren’t able to find it, please feel free to contact us at ThePeoplesColloquiumPDX@gmail.com.
